Description:
This project asked us to refurb an old oak framed barn. We made beautiful oak trusses using traditional joinery methods of mortise and tenon doweled together. These trusses were kept on show and really show of the natural beauty of this building material.
We also made this bespoke direct glazed gable end for the barn to really capitalise on the amazing views of the English countryside. The client requested a ‘nook’ area for them and their children to be able to sit and enjoy the views.
Oak framing in our opinion is the most beautiful method of building in the UK. It really shows off our heritage and the feeling when sitting in a completed oak framed building is second to none.
